ABOUT US

Marr Holdings is a real estate focused family office. We have a flexible and entrepreneurial approach to investments, and embrace all opportunities with a solution driven mindset.

As a family office, our priority is capital preservation requiring the appropriate levels of governance and due diligence on all transactions. We employ a hands-on approach to all our investments with the objective of adding value to both ourselves and our investment partners, where applicable. We are pro-active, responsive and act expeditiously.

Currently, our real estate interests are predominantly located in South Africa. We now actively seek global opportunities to expand and diversify. The markets we are focusing on are North America, the UK and Europe. The location of the future investments will be relationship and opportunity dependent. We welcome both outright acquisitions and joint venture opportunities.

Our property portfolio is diverse covering all sectors. The directors of the family office have over 30 years collective real estate investment experience.

PRIVATE EQUITY

With respect to private equity investments we adopt a passive role and generally only invest with and behind experts in this sector.

Jaysen Golding : Joint Managing Director

Jaysen is the Joint Managing Director of Marr Holdings, having joined the company in 2016.

He has over 14 years of commercial real estate experience having previously worked for the Collins Group and Investec Bank.

At the Collins Group he was involved in all aspects of asset management, due diligence, acquisitions and financing of properties. At Investec Bank he was involved in the funding of commercial real estate for the bank’s private clients

Prior to Investec Bank he lectured taxation at the University of KwaZulu-Natal after completing his articles at PWC.

Russell Smith : Joint Managing Director

Russell is the Joint Managing Director of Marr Holdings.

He is a CA(SA) HDip (Tax) and has over 15 years of experience in real estate, tax and finance.

His capabilities include deal origination and structuring; loan finance; development and asset management for multitude of real estate types including commercial, industrial, residential and mixed use developments.

Russell completed his articles with Deloitte & Touché, with a Higher Diploma in Taxation from the University of Cape Town. He has previously held positions at Deloitte & Touché (Cape Town), ABN AMRO (London); Old Mutual South Africa and the Land Equity Group before joining Marr in 2019.

Kyle Cox: Manager

Kyle is a graduate of the University of Cape Town, and holds a Bachelor of Science with Majors in Mathematics and Economics, and a Bachelor of Commerce(Hons.) in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management.

Kyle is also a CFA Charter Holder. Prior to joining Marr Holdings as a Manager, Kyle spent nearly four years as an Investment Analyst at Morningstar Investment Management, which manages over $200bn worldwide.

In this role Kyle headed up the local equity and property sectors from an investment selection and due diligence point of view as part of the local investment committee and the global capital markets team.

Kyle has a keen interest in investments and investment strategy across all asset classes.

Michelle Penderis: Office Manager

Michelle is the office Manager for Marr holdings.

She completed her bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Industrial psychology through the University of Stellenbosch.

She spent the last year working as a HR Coordinator in Vancouver and is passionate about people management.
